                                মনোরঞ্জন নন্দী সারা জীবন নিজেকে 'মূর্খ-সুর্খ মানুষ' বলে হালকা করে দেখিয়েছেন, অথচ বিরল বিনয়ের শক্তিতে তিনি ছিলেন রাজশাহীর সাহিত্য-সংস্কৃতির আকাশে এক অবিচ্ছিন্ন আলোকস্তম্ভ। শিক্ষার মূল্য সনদে মাপা যায় না, বরং মাপা যায় ভালোবাসায়, কৌতূহলে, আর মানুষের প্রতি গভীর দায়বদ্ধতায়। মনোরঞ্জন নন্দী, আমাদের সবার নন্দীদা, ছিলেন এই সত্যের জীবন্ত প্রমাণ। প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষার গণ্ডি তিনি উচ্চমাধ্যমিকের পর আর পেরোতে পারেননি, কিন্তু তাঁর অদম্য সাধনা তাঁকে এনে দিয়েছিল প্রখ্যাত কথাসাহিত্যিক হাসান আজিজুল হক ও কবি অনিক মাহমুদের মতো মানুষের সান্নিধ্য। নন্দীদা নিজেও এ নিয়ে গর্ব করতেন, আর সেটি ছিল তাঁর স্বভাবসুলভ বিনয়ের ভেতর একেবারেই ন্যায্য গর্ব। শৈশব থেকেই তাঁর জীবনের সংগ্রামের শুরু। পারিবারিক আর্থিক সংকট তাঁকে ঠেলে দিয়েছিল স্কুলের গণ্ডির বাইরে। তবু তিনি থামেননি। হাতে পাওয়া যে কোনো ছাপা কাগজ মন দিয়ে পড়তেন। এই অদম্য পাঠপিপাসাই তাঁকে গড়ে তুলেছিল জ্ঞানের ভাণ্ডার হিসেবে। ছোটবেলায় সঙ্গের প্রভা...
