পাখির ধর্ম ওড়া। হর্ষ বা বিষাদে পাখি যা বলে তা সুরেলা গান হয়ে যায়। নদীর ধর্ম সাগরে বয়ে চলা। সে চলার মনমোহিনী এক ছন্দ আছে। নদীর কাছে গেলে শান্তি মেলে। ঝরনা ঝরে। লোহা আকর্ষিত হয়, চুম্বক আকর্ষণ করে। এ ধরায় সবার ধর্ম নির্ধারিত হয় নিজ নিজ কর্মে। শুধুমাত্র মানুষের বেলায় এসে ধর্মের রীতি বদলে যায়। মানুষের ধর্ম হয় মুখের কথায়। কেউ বলে আমি মুসলমান, কেউ হিন্দু, কেউ খ্রিস্টান, কেউ বলে আমি বৌদ্ধ। মন ও প্রাণে বুঝে বা না বুঝে ধর্মের ছাঁচে নিজেকে ফেলে। নিজের মনের আনন্দের কর্মে খুব কম মানুষের ক্ষেত্রেই তার ধর্ম বিবেচিত হয়। শান্তি মেলে এমন মানবের সন্ধান করতে যারপরনাই গলদঘর্ম হতে হয়। যার যেটা কর্ম সেটাই তার ধর্ম, যা দাবি করা হয় তা ধর্ম নয়। লোহা যদি বলে আমি লোহা নই সোনা, তাহলে কি লোহা সোনা হয়ে যাবে? বিড়াল যদি নিজেকে বাঘ দাবি করে, তবে কেউ কি তাকে সে স্বীকৃতি দেবে? আমরা যারা হিন্দু, মুসলিম, বৌদ্ধ, খ্রিস্টান বা অন্য যেকোনো ধর্মের বলে দাবি করছি, তাদের অবস্থা ভাবনার অবকাশ রাখে। নদী যখন দুপাশের ভূমি উর্বর করতে করতে শান্তভাবে বয়ে চলে, তখন তাকে অনেকে মায়ের আসনে স্থান দেয়। আবার সাগরে যেতে যেতে নদী যখন একের পর এক

Without any governmental approval, two multi-storied commercial buildings are being constructed along the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway, occupying government land and canals. What's more, the establishments are being built by the mayor of Katakhali municipality, under Rajshahi's Paba upazila. Not approved by any government agency, the buildings aren't part of the municipal body's official activities either. Yet, land officials are stopping short of calling them 'illegal'. "We don't want to call the construction works illegal, as they're being done out of public interest," said Sheikh Ahsan Uddin, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Paba upazila. As feared, many admission seekers of Rajshahi University (RU) and their guardians were desperate to find a place to stay yesterday, and the situation was exacerbated by unusually high accommodation rents in the city.
