Police held 3 Outlaws in Bagmara

Police arrested three listed members of outlawed Sarbohara group from Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi yesterday.

The detainees – Shahadat Hossain, 35 of Nakhopara, Nazmul Hossain, 20, and Anwar, also known as Babul and Altaf, 25 of Polashi were sent to jail custody after police produced them before a Rajshahi court showing arrested under emergency ordinance.

Tipped off, a police team led by officer-in-charge of Bagmara police station Mirza Golam Sarwar held them raiding their houses.

Police said, the arrestees were accused in several cases of murder and terrorist activities.

The convicts also include Rajshahi district BNP Secretary Shish Muhammad. The Second Additional Sessions Judge's Court, Rajshahi convicted them for aiding and abetting the militants of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in extorting and torturing people in Bagmara upazila of the district in 2004. The convicts were also fined Tk 25,000 each and in default they will have to suffer three years more in jail.
